The two best quarterbacks in recent years face this weekend when Tom Brady and the New England Patriots host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the traditional Sunday night NFL game. The Patriots will look to stay undefeated at home, while the Packers are looking for their first victory as a visitor.
The Packers manage to win as an away team
The Patriots are on a fantastic home streak, winning 11 consecutive games at Gillette Stadium. Throughout that streak, nine of those wins were at least seven points and with a combined average of 14.82 points per game.
The Packers, on the other hand, have suffered quite a bit outside of Lambeau Field. Aaron Rodgers and company have lost nine of their last 12 games, and seven of those losses were by seven points or more. However, there is a glimmer of hope for the Packers. Last week against the Los Angeles Rams, the Packers came close to getting the win, falling by a score of 29-27 in the house of the best team in the NFL.
The Patriots offense is strong and it will be a key
The problems of the Packers when they play away from home have a lot to do with their defense. As a visitor the Packers have allowed an average of 30.3 points per game, which is equivalent to the fifth worst defense of the NFL as a visitor. Also, throughout the first eight weeks the Packers have allowed 29 points or more on five occasions.
As for the Patriots, Bill Belichick’s offense has been phenomenal at home. The Patriots have averaged 39.67 points per game through their last three at home and 36.4 points per game in their last five.
Betting Prediction ATS England Patriots against Green Bay Packers
Comparing the two teams, it seems to me that the Patriots have better receivers and a much more defined ground attack. Much will be said about the confrontation Aaron Rodgers-Tom Brady, but player by player, I think the Patriots have a better team. So then, I think it will be the Patriots that will take the win in this clash of titans at Gillette Stadium.
Winner: New England Patriots 34-27
