Houston Rockets vs. Milwaukee Bucks Betting Prediction 10/24/2019
The NBA begins one of the evenest seasons in recent years. In this first encounter, the Houston Rockets and the Milwaukee Bucks present us with a match of two moved teams that has the last two MVPs of the NBA facing each other.
Houston Rockets Betting Analysis
The Rockets have one premise, to win the championship. With this, three situations collide strongly: the coach, the stars, the depth.
Coach Mike D’Antoni bets on a game very dependent on its top star, James Harden. Many of the plays in the playbook of the Rockets fall on the shoulders of the escort, who plays in isolated positions, winning a championship like this is very difficult.
Houston moved in low season sending its starting base, Chris Paul, to Oklahoma, bringing Russell Westbrook to replace him. Westbrook has been averaging a triple-double for three seasons in a row, winning an MVP in 2017. They’re reading it right, Houston has two MVPs, but they’re a problem.
Both Harden and Westbrook are the two players who have the longest time with the ball in their hands while on the field, Harden with 36.9%, Westbrook with 35.6%. Will they be able to coexist? They’ve been partners in Oklahoma before, but none of them had reached the peak of their careers – especially Harden. Now, that doubt is latent.
Another problem between these stars, both of whom are questioned for not performing when it matters most. Since the 2016-2017 season, Westbrook has not been able to get past the first round of the postseason. Harden has reached semifinals and conference finals. Both times, his efficiency and the basketing percentage drop from 44% to 41%. When you’re in the postseason, that matters a lot.
Finally, Houston doesn’t have such a deep roster, its rotation is short and that fatigues in the interesting stages of the season. Discounting Houston is a mistake, against Milwaukee they can win, if their figures are coupled.
Milwaukee Bucks Betting Analysis
The Bucks have in Giannis Antetokounmpo the Most Valuable Player of the previous year. The Greek pivot wing is a beast – as his nickname indicates – and dominates almost any player he is put in front of. He is too tall for a forward, too strong for other pivot wings and too fast to put a pivot. It’s unstoppable.
However, there is an asterisk with the Bucks. They lost two of their best perimeter shooters in the Malcolm Brogdon escort (43% from the three-point line) and the pivoting wing Nikola Mirotic (36%).
Milwaukee needs shooters to complement the Antetokounmpo game. Giannis is a player who attacks the hoop constantly and is an indomitable force that needs double coverage on many occasions. Hence the need for players on the perimeter to score at will.
But it was a subject that was addressed to some extent in the low season. The Bucks signed the escort, Kyle Korver. Korver is a sniper who has a 43% success rate on three-point shots in his career.
Also, the Brook Lopez center is the third most effective in his position from the bow with a 36% effectiveness.
Finally, Khris Middleton is the ideal companion for Antetokounmpo and the functioning of the Bucks. Middleton comes from being an all-star, is a perimeter threat and has a defensive level capable of complicating their pairings.
Against Houston, the physical game must be a priority to start the season on the right foot.
The Rockets are local and in a Western conference too tight they can’t afford to miss the first meeting. It will be a test to stop Antetokounmpo but James Harden should have a brutal game and take the victory to Houston
