NFL 2019 Week 6 TNF: Giants vs. Patriots Betting Prediction 10/10/2019
The New England Patriots already crushed the Jets this year. This week it is their turn to welcome the other New York team, the Giants, to their home. Daniel Jones will be in his fourth game as a starter, last week suffered the first defeat of his career.
The Giants showed their worst face when facing a good defense like the Vikings, even more so because Wayne Gallman Jr. was injured early in the game and Jon Hilliman had to go out to the ring. Another who came out in shock on Sunday was Sterling Shepard, Daniel Jones’ main open receiver. Jones will have to depend this Thursday on Golden Tate and Evan Engram, but it will be very difficult for the Patriots to let them breathe. It will be a long offensive game. The Giants defense has had 4 bad games and a good one this season. The good one was against the Redskins with Keenum and Haskins, that is to say, nothing to do with what they will find of the other side this week that is nothing more and nothing less than Tom Brady. They allow 8.4 yards per pass attempt, the second-worst average in the league and overall they are the third-worst defense in yards allowed per game.
The New England Patriots defense is playing historically well. They have indeed faced 3 teams that have not yet won (0-13 accumulated) and little more, but the numbers are the numbers. The defense of the Patriots has only allowed 2 touchdowns in the year, both by land. The other touchdowns allowed have been one in special teams and one in return of an interception. They have recovered 12 times the ovoid and total 24 captures in 5 games and lead the league in points allowed, yards allowed by air, and in total. They are the team with the fewest yards allowed per pass attempt, accumulating 11 interceptions without TDs. They have only been converted 8 times in third-down in 5 games, what madness. The offensive of the Patriots has not had to do much so far, just accumulate 3.5 yards per attempt to carry, but by air have been more successful with Tom Brady and accumulating 1400+ yards with 10 TDs and 2 INTs. The Giants’ secondary defense is an invitation for Tom Brady to do whatever he wants.
In addition to Gallman and Shepard, Evan Engram is in doubt for Thursday. For the Patriots only Philip Dorsett would be staying out.
The Patriots will be able to score points at will this week. We bet for them, for their defense and for what they will be able to do in the attack against this defense of Giants.
